Amanda and Scott - Brereton Lake Engagement

I think it would be pretty foolish and unlike me to say no to going on an adventure with a couple. Amanda and Scott invited me out to Brereton Lake to head out on their boat and find some beautiful spots to take their photo's. I had fun rippin around the lake in the back of the boat with these two. I love couples that are up for adventures!  They were both full of smiles, and up for getting into some tricky spots for photo's.

I'd never been to Brereton Lake before this, and what a beautiful place it is! Hopefully i'll be back out there again this year!

Enjoy!

Kylee + Trevor - Winnipeg Engagement

Engagement shoots are a good time, its a chance to get to know each other and have some fun exploring, chatting, joking around.

We wandered around the Exchange and The Forks. We kicked leaves, had piggy back rides down the side of a slippery hill, enjoyed some laughs and found some beautiful light. I'd say we all had a pretty damn good time!

Can't wait for more good times with these two!

Coral + Matt - Ashgrove Acres Wedding

I spent a perfect fall day with Coral and Matt and their family and friends for their beautiful wedding out at Ashgrove Acres. Lots of fun and laughs were had! They even had a bruschetta bar, which I very much enjoyed! The sunset sure didn't disappoint either, always love when a couple is willing to sneak away from the wedding for 10-15 mins to get some sunset shots and spend a few minutes alone together.

Enjoy!

Part 3 - The last day in Iceland

Im actually going to start this off on the evening of Day 2, better yet I'll start it off from my birthday, back in June. Amanda arranged to take me out for wings (I love hot wings!) for my birthday. I figured it was just the two of us, but her being the amazing wife she is, she invited a bunch of our good friends out. Surprise!  After getting over the fact that I get to enjoy wings with all my friends, we got to chatting about the upcoming trip to Iceland. This peeked some interest with Robyn and Lionel, and gave them a gentle push to plan a trip there for the same time as us. We also persuaded them with the offer to take their photo's out there! So next thing ya know they've booked their flights to be there the same time as us!

Fast forward now back to the evening of Day 2 in Iceland. We just drove back from Budir shooting Mikaila and Wills elopement. We were running on very little sleep, and pretty exhausted, however Robyn and Lionel we're headed over to our AirBNB and we were going to have a night out, dinner and a "couple" drinks. We made our way down to the bumpin' and fun part of Reykjavik for some dinner. After a drink and a shot of Icelandic vodka we wandered around finding all the cool little places we could to stop in for more drinks. We even ended up in the Big Lebowski bar... super random right! That night was a blast, as it always seems to be, when we get together with those two! If you happened to catch our live insta stories from out there, you'd see a bit of the fun we were having.

The plan for Day 3 was to head out with Robyn and Lionel and check out waterfalls, and adventure and take wild pictures wherever we could. That morning our bodies said NO. Amanda had come down with a terrible cold before we even left Canada, and was being a trooper keeping up with this crazy busy adventurous trip, and my body was feeling the exhaustion of being on the go with very little sleep. So we had to let them head out on their own. After getting some energy back after a lazy day spent eating fish and chips in our room, we decided we'd head out on the road and meet Robyn and Lionel on their way back to Reykjavik. We found this amazing spot on the side of the highway with steam coming from the ground, hot springs, and hot water seeping out of the mountain side. As usual in Iceland it was raining too. Robyn and Lionel managed to get to the spot with about 15 minutes of light left, and we managed to pull off the shoot you see below. Super glad we could make it happen, and snag some amazing photo's of these fantastic friends of ours.

As of just a couple days before writing and posting this blog, we have just confirmed another elopement in Iceland. I am extremely stoked to be heading back out there, to seeing more of that wild country, and having my mind blown by its wild landscapes! Oh yeah and those amazing gas station bacon wrapped hot dogs!!!

Enjoy!!

Meredith + Krzystof - Winnipeg Wedding

Meredith and Krzystof had an intimate morning wedding followed up with brunch with their family and close friends. The day was so lovely, from Merediths yellow dress, to the special guest appearance of an owl, and all of the bird details. Not to mention their heartfelt vows. These two were so easy to capture and I could have photographed them all day!

Thank you for including me in your special day.

Milk Bath Maternity - Winnipeg Maternity Photographer

Aren't women's bodies the most amazing thing? We literally create, grow, and birth small humans.
I am all for photographing all stages of life, especially pregnancy, (it's kind of second nature, considering our jobs ... :)  ) So trying to photograph the beautiful pregnant body a little different was something I've always wanted to try.
Maternity photos are amazing, and highly recommended, we are only pregnant for such a short time, although if you ask anyone near the end of their pregnancy, they will say it feels like a life time. LOL!!! But - regardless of how uncomfortable, swollen and just plain DONE moms-to-be are, we have to take a moment to capture the beauty of our bodies, that baby will be here before you know it, and all you will have left are the memories, and if you're lucky enough - some beautiful pictures!

I am happy to say that I am going to be adding milk baths to my repertoire. If this is something that you would be interested in doing, please head over to the contact us page, and send me an email.

In the mean time, take a scroll below. Check out this momma of soon to be 2! She was an absolute gem to photograph, and check out that perfect baby belly!

Mikaila + Will - Iceland Elopement

Day 2 of 3 in Iceland!

Mikaila and Will were actually the first couple to book us for their elopement in Iceland.

It was an early morning getting up, to make the drive from Reykjavik to Budir. (I think we were awake around 5am) Once on the road we made our first stop of the day at a gas station to grab breakfast, yes we had those delicious gas station hot dogs for breakfast!

The drive was stunning, as it seems to be every where you go in Iceland. As we got close to Hotel Budir, we stopped to take some of the sites in for a bit. We are talking multiple waterfalls off the side of a mountain, in someones backyard, kinda sights! AMAZING!

We stepped into Hotel Budir and wow, what a beautiful place. So much character and charm in there.

Mikaila and Will were getting ready in the same room, which was pretty sweet, as Mikaila helped Will get suited up, and all the feels started happening. Once he was ready, he left the room so Mikaila could get her dress on, and we could do a nice first look with them.

With the first look out of the way, we walked over to the iconic Black Church. We've seen pictures of this place so many times on instagram but actually seeing it in person was something else!

The ceremony consisted of Amanda and I, Mikaila and Will, and the officiant, as well as a few tourists eyes peering in through the windows.

We wandered around the grounds nearby, walked down by the ocean, had some laughs at the cute dogs from the hotel and then made our way on our adventure for the day.

We actually took a wrong turn when we left and ended up at Kirkjufell first, which was supposed to be our last spot for the day. No big deal. We did get to take some crazy roads through the mountains to get there.

Just like the day before, we'd drive and find spots to shoot, however this time we weren't in the rain, and it was actually quite warm which was a nice little change.

We even made our way up the side of an old volcanic crater for some pretty ridiculously awesome photo's. From there we went to Hellnar and Arnarstapi for some more photo's and ended up back at Hotel Budir to drop them off so they could enjoy the rest of their wedding day with each other.

We can't thank Mikaila and Will enough for giving us the opportunity to get to Iceland and capture their secret elopement. This was an experience we will remember forever!

Mikaila and Will wrote a little testimonial for us too that we thought we would share.

We are so, so happy we chose Corey and Amanda to be a part of our Icelandic elopement. They did so much more than capture the special day -- they added to the experience with their energy, spontaneity, and talent. Several times we stopped for unique shooting opportunities, including to hike to the top of a volcano! They put as at such ease during the shooting process with their tone in direction, and professionalism. (Professionalism -- which was complimented by a sense of playfulness and attention to even the smallest of details.) Every photo from our day affirms that we couldn't have made a better selection in who should take them!

Corey & Amanda -- Thank you for delivering breathtaking photos that preserve not only the beauty of the places we went, but the emotion we felt and will cherish forever. We are so appreciative of the care and time you took to ensure such an authentic and stunning series of images for us to remember our first moments together as husband and wife.

And then followed up with this after receiving their photos!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I am speechless. I had high expectations for these to begin with, but you've managed to healthily exceed them! These are phenomenal. So truly representative of the day and as someone who ordinarily hates photos of herself, I haven't found one that I dislike from this lot. I have to underscore my gratitude now. We are already picking out those we'd like to frame. (The one's atop the volcano -- holy crap!) Arnastapi's colouring is seriously beautiful too. I could go on and on about every single one of these! The first look one's in the hotel lobby-- my god!  If anyone I know announces an engagement, I'll be making a speedy recommendation for who should photograph their wedding.

Sorry for the long read, but now its time to enjoy the photos!
