Nikolina and Paul - Whiteshell Engagement

Nikolina and Paul - Whiteshell Engagement

Fall time is pretty darn fantastic, if I had to choose my favorite season Fall would win for sure.

I met up with Nikolina and Paul at her parents cabin in the Whiteshell. It's always nice to shoot somewhere with special meaning to a couple. They took me to some great locations for photo's and we ended up back at the cabin and down on the dock for what proved to be one hell of an amazing sunset!!

Enjoy!

Melissa + Aaron - Winnipeg Wedding

Melissa and Aaron had a beautiful ceremony in the Leo Mol gardens in Assiniboine Park. There was a bit of rain scattered through the day but it didn't bother us any. We made the best of it and had a lot of fun, it was also a great excuse to stop in at The Kings Head Pub for a couple drinks. We wrapped the night up at the Victoria Inn for their reception.

Oksana + Tyler - Grand Beach Engagement

It wasn't the warmest of beach days, but we did have a great time climbing rocks, playing in the sand, and maybe a bit of splashing in the water at the end. I sure miss the fall and all the fun shoots!

We'll be posting their wedding soon too!

Dahna + Kris - Whiteshell Engagement

Feeling all kinds of lucky with the amazing places we got to shoot this past year. Dahna and Kris took me out to the Whiteshell and we went to places I've never been before. We shot until it started to get dark and then had to walk back through the trails in the dark (Thankfully I had a flashlight with me) and then we shot some more in the dark!

We had a great time wandering and chatting, its always nice getting that chance to connect more with the couples we work with.

Enjoy!

Heather + Jeremy - Engagement

Seeing as Heather and Jeremy met each other while attending the University of Manitoba, it seemed like a great idea to head back to their old stomping grounds. We wandered around, found some pretty light, and even went inside to get some photo's in some familiar spots for them. Oh, and they brought their very cute pup Django!

Enjoy!

It's always so amazing, and heart warming, when we meet a couple when they are newly engaged, and then we get to follow and document all of their biggest life events.

We met Liam's parents just like that, newly engaged. We shot their engagement, wedding, maternity, and now, newborn photos. We love being able to keep in touch with the couples we have been lucky enough to meet. It truly stops feeling like a job, and more like a friendship.

We also love when the parents incorporate their own personal touches with the shoots, like for Liam, Dad is in RCMP, so we got to use his boots and hat for the photos to make it more personal for them.

Congrats to the new parents, hope you're getting some sleep, and we can't wait to see where life takes you next!

I got to meet little Ava just before Christmas. She was an absolute doll. I got to spend the afternoon with Ava's mom and grandma, chatting it up and stealing some baby cuddles every chance I got.

I loved this fresh girly color pallet, I think it is one of my favorites to use.

As always, I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites, but scroll down and see the cuteness for your self!

Jamie + Chris - Anniversary Shoot

A little while back Jamie and Chris contacted us to do a cozy in home anniversary shoot with them. They had a real cute place, lots of personal touches, clearly they love each other, and by the looks of it they love their coffee as well (Bonus points to them for grabbing me a coffee too!)

Really enjoy doing these in home shoots, they are so personal, and couples are so comfortable being in their own surroundings.

Enjoy.

Couldn't really ask for a better day for this one.

Amazing couple, super fun wedding party, fantastic vendors, and one of the most beautiful venues!

The day started off at the Fort Garry hotel, and from there we made our way out to Cielo's Garden. The weather was as good as it could possibly be for September.

The day was full of fun, and the ceremony was sweet. Im pretty sure I shed a tear at the reception during speeches. And wow did the party get going, the dance floor was full of all kinds of fun!

Holly and Sam, thank you guys so much for including us on this amazing journey of yours. Its been one heck of a great time!

Paris + George - Iceland Elopement

Well... here goes!

First things first, Paris and George were actually the second couple to book us for an elopement in Iceland, but they managed to be the first that we shot in the 3 days we were there. We had already been booked to shoot another elopement (It will be posted soon) and crazily enough Paris and George were looking to elope in the same time frame that we were going to be there.

Now with that out of the way, this might be a long post, so grab a snack, maybe a tasty beverage, and enjoy.

We left Winnipeg Sunday afternoon, after shooting a wedding on Saturday. We flew through the night to get to Iceland, and neither Amanda or myself are much good at sleeping on planes. We arrived at 9am, grabbed our sweet Dacia rental car, and a delicious coffee and sandwich from Joe and the Juice and got on the road. We headed straight to Paris and Georges AirBNB, had a quick change of clothes and quickly freshened up before starting the day of shooting.
They did their first look pretty much across the street from the AirBNB, and once we did that we hopped into the car and headed East!

Here's the thing about Iceland, every where you look there's an epic spot to shoot. First stop was off the side of the highway after making our way over a mountain range. Second stop was just a few minutes from there in what appeared to be some kind of mining operation.

We finally found ourselves at the office of the Wedding Officiant and were back on the road to our first Iceland waterfall Seljalandsfoss (try and say that, good luck!) This is where they had their official ceremony. It was wet, very wet, but 110% amazing in every way. We even got to sign as witnesses! We also had a crowd of people around that of course let out a big cheer for them.

Next stop was another side of the highway location, we spotted an old grass covered house, or barn, or whatever it was. It was perfect!

Waterfall number 2 for the day was Skogafoss. You may have seen it before, its pretty much the most amazing waterfall you'll see. Yet again, we got soaked, but let me tell you it was worth it. We took a few photo's of Paris and George there, and then handed one of our cameras to them to take photo's of us! haha.

With Skogafoss done, we got back on the road and made our way to Vik, home of the famous Black Sand Beach. It was cold, super windy, rainy, and there was a lot of tourists, yet somehow we managed to make some magic there and get some beautiful photo's.

By this time it was starting to get pretty late in the day, and we had a pretty long trek back to Reykjavik ahead of us. So we started heading back, but not without stopping in a few more of those off the side of the highway spots! Seriously you could just skip all of the super popular locations and just find places off the highway, its amazing out there.

That pretty much sums up day 1 in Iceland, once we got back to town we had quite the adventure of finding our AirBNB and getting in there (thats another story in itself). Grabbed ourselves some Fish N Chips for supper and got some much needed sleep, as we had to be up at 5am for Day 2's elopement.

Thank you so much Paris and George for taking us on this adventure with you. You guys were amazing, and we couldn't be more honored to have been part of such a special day for you both. Looking forward to the day we cross paths once again!
