Robyn + Lionel - Iceland Couples Shoot

Part 3 - The last day in Iceland

Im actually going to start this off on the evening of Day 2, better yet I'll start it off from my birthday, back in June. Amanda arranged to take me out for wings (I love hot wings!) for my birthday. I figured it was just the two of us, but her being the amazing wife she is, she invited a bunch of our good friends out. Surprise!  After getting over the fact that I get to enjoy wings with all my friends, we got to chatting about the upcoming trip to Iceland. This peeked some interest with Robyn and Lionel, and gave them a gentle push to plan a trip there for the same time as us. We also persuaded them with the offer to take their photo's out there! So next thing ya know they've booked their flights to be there the same time as us!

Fast forward now back to the evening of Day 2 in Iceland. We just drove back from Budir shooting Mikaila and Wills elopement. We were running on very little sleep, and pretty exhausted, however Robyn and Lionel we're headed over to our AirBNB and we were going to have a night out, dinner and a "couple" drinks. We made our way down to the bumpin' and fun part of Reykjavik for some dinner. After a drink and a shot of Icelandic vodka we wandered around finding all the cool little places we could to stop in for more drinks. We even ended up in the Big Lebowski bar... super random right! That night was a blast, as it always seems to be, when we get together with those two! If you happened to catch our live insta stories from out there, you'd see a bit of the fun we were having.

The plan for Day 3 was to head out with Robyn and Lionel and check out waterfalls, and adventure and take wild pictures wherever we could. That morning our bodies said NO. Amanda had come down with a terrible cold before we even left Canada, and was being a trooper keeping up with this crazy busy adventurous trip, and my body was feeling the exhaustion of being on the go with very little sleep. So we had to let them head out on their own. After getting some energy back after a lazy day spent eating fish and chips in our room, we decided we'd head out on the road and meet Robyn and Lionel on their way back to Reykjavik. We found this amazing spot on the side of the highway with steam coming from the ground, hot springs, and hot water seeping out of the mountain side. As usual in Iceland it was raining too. Robyn and Lionel managed to get to the spot with about 15 minutes of light left, and we managed to pull off the shoot you see below. Super glad we could make it happen, and snag some amazing photo's of these fantastic friends of ours.

As of just a couple days before writing and posting this blog, we have just confirmed another elopement in Iceland. I am extremely stoked to be heading back out there, to seeing more of that wild country, and having my mind blown by its wild landscapes! Oh yeah and those amazing gas station bacon wrapped hot dogs!!!

Enjoy!!

Jamie + Chris - Anniversary Shoot

A little while back Jamie and Chris contacted us to do a cozy in home anniversary shoot with them. They had a real cute place, lots of personal touches, clearly they love each other, and by the looks of it they love their coffee as well (Bonus points to them for grabbing me a coffee too!)

Really enjoy doing these in home shoots, they are so personal, and couples are so comfortable being in their own surroundings.

Enjoy.

Tessa + Pat - Couples shoot at the Carnival

We first met Tessa a few years back as a bridesmaid in a wedding we were shooting, so it was great to see her again and have her be in the spotlight for some photos. I've wanted to do a shoot at a carnival for a long time so obviously I was quite excited when she came up with the idea. We wandered around, played some games and went on some rides!

Enjoy!

I knew ahead of time that Renee and Kurtis had a certain style to them, what I didn't know was how great their home was too! Its totally their style. I couldn't have asked for a better place for this shoot!

An in home shoot is just a bit more intimate than the usual couple's shoot outdoors. You are already comfortable in your home, it shows who you are and what you love.

We started with some really great coffee (I seriously love coffee these days!) Even though there's 2 mugs shown in the photo's there was one for me too.

I followed Renee and Kurtis around the house, forcing them to cuddle (well not really forcing them) It was really great to get them together for some more romantic moments, and for some good laughs, which were mostly at my expense.

I'd love to shoot more of these in home lifestyle couples sessions, if you're interested hit the link to contact us!

Britney + Phil - Winnipeg Couples Shoot

Over the years we've made some great friends through this crazy wedding industry. Britney and Phil are a pair of those great friends. (You may recognize Britney from Fache Floral Designs)

This is the second year we've got out with them to capture some fun photo's of their super cute family. Getting to know Britney and Phil over the past few years has been a pleasure! They are both super sweet and genuine people with such a love for life and each other.

Britney has also been a super big part of our Camp Wannaknowmore Workshop that we host every year out at Thunderbird Bungalows in Clear Lake, Manitoba, and we can't wait to have her back again this year!

All that nice stuff aside, take a little peak below at some of the photo's of them and their fur babies!

Kaitlyn + Cole - Birds Hill Park Couples Shoot

Kaitlyn and Cole showed up to their shoot at Birds Hill Park full of nerves, they pulled the old "we are super nervous" stunt.  However as usual a minute into their shoot they were in their own world, and it was as if I wasn't even around! Lots of smiles, and laughs, and a bunch of kisses made this shoot perfect!

We don't just like being photographers and capturing couples love for eachother, we really love it! Leaving the shoot I couldn't wait to post a picture on facebook and instagram! So there I was on the side of the highway, they had just drove away and I was posting a shot fresh off the camera!

Hope you enjoy these ones!

I've been wanting to shoot at this iconic Winnipeg location for a while. There's just something about the grit, and old age of Arlington Bridge. Its actually over 100 years old, which is amazing if you ask me. Having met Rob a little while back, I thought it would be great to get him and his wife out for a shoot. Rob is also an extremely talaneted photographer (Click here for his instagram) The day before the shoot the weather was amazing, and sure enough in true Winnipeg style that wasn't the case the day of. It was pretty much freezing out, and the sky was gloomy. Turns out that really complimented the overall look of the shoot. Anyways, enough of me rambling, take a look through the photo's and enjoy.

I love getting out and taking people's photo's. Capturing their love and emotions for each other.
We ran a contest to give away a free shoot when we had hit 1000 instagram followers, and Christel and Tanner were the lucky winners.
We are always keeping an eye out for places we would love to shoot and this little spot was one of those places. I would drive past this spot every day and never paid much attention to it, recently I decided to take a little adventure through there and was pleasently surprised at how beautiful it was.
Location aside, Christel and Tanner were great to work with, you can really see how much they love each other in their photo's.
Enjoy

Sylvia + Branden - Winnipeg Couples Shoot

Earlier this year - we posted about giving away a free photo shoot. We like to keep busy, and current with our shooting, or if we have something specific in mind - we will throw it out there to our social media followers to win a chance for a free photo shoot. Sylvia and Branden were a couple that won a free session.
We love getting out and shooting, and so glad we got to meet them.

We ventured out to Assinaboine Forest - we are never disappointed with our city's beautiful green space.

Here are some of our favs from their couples shoot, and we hope to work with them again some day!

Kayla + Jarrod - Couples Shoot

Way back in the winter we had a contest and gave away a couple of free shoots. Kayla and Jarrod were one of the winners. Being outdoorsy, and loving camping they wanted to head out to Birds Hill Park for their shoot. They really made it easy to get some great photo's of them. There was lots of laughing and joking around, and they had no problem kickin up the heat every now and then too.
