Natasha and Cody got married at their favorite place, surrounded by their close family and friends.
I spent the day with them at Highwinds Lake Camp just past Kenora and it was well worth the drive to get out to this beautiful place. It’s no wonder its their fav place to be.
They got married on the lake, and then we took a short hike and found some stunning spots for photo’s. The night was finished off with some fireworks!
The skies were stormy, but the storm held off for us to get out for Michelle and Kevin’s intimate elopement shoot. I always love the green’s when the sky is grey, they just seem so rich. Michelle and Kevin were so fun and easy going, just a dream to work with and spend a little bit of time together capturing their love. La Barrier Park was the perfect spot for these two.
I made my way out to Mackenzie and Corbin’s family farm to capture some engagement photo’s for them. We had a gorgeous evening, the sky was smokey from forest fires, but it gave us some nice soft light to set the mood with them. Got a bit up close and personal with some cows on this one too!
Assiniboine Park at sunset is just so damn beautiful. Lots of beautiful green space, and gardens to take photo’s around. Kathleen and Leo let me take them around and capture some beautiful moments for them.
Looking forward to seeing them again soon for their wedding day.
Summer time in Winnipeg can be absolutely amazing, and Christine and Ryans wedding day was no exception to this. The sun was out, it was plenty hot out, but they kept themselves and their guests cool and refreshed with the help of Nomad Box Bar!
We started with a first look between the two of them, with their wedding party not far away. Their pup also made an appearance and was so happy to see them.
The wedding ceremony and reception were held in their friends back yard along the river. It was perfect! They even had a bonfire later in the evening at the edge of the water.
The day was planned to perfection with the skilled services of Tricia Bachewich Events. Always so great to work with this team, and highly recommended!
Enjoy the photo’s below!
Something i’ve wanted to do for a while is getting up on a rooftop with some pizza and drinks for an engagement shoot, so when I mentioned it to Danny and Shayne and they were on board with it I got pretty excited.
We started with a walk around their neighborhood and found some great spots for photo’s before we headed back to their house and climbed up on the roof with some pizza and drinks.
It was fun and full of good laughs with these two!
I got to spend a beautiful summer evening with Maddy and Sebastian for their engagement shoot. We wandered around Assiniboine Park and captured some beautiful moments with them. The skies were smokey but we still got some warm glowing light to set the mood.
Enjoy!

Capturing Sam and Quincy’s Unforgettable Countryside Wedding
As a wedding photographer, I’m always excited to tell love stories through my lens, and Sam and Quincy’s wedding was one for the books. Set against the serene backdrop of sprawling fields and tall, lush grass, their special day felt like a dream. From their intimate moments to the natural beauty surrounding them, every detail made this wedding a perfect celebration of love and connection.
The Setting: A Dreamy Countryside Backdrop
Sam and Quincy chose a beautiful open field for their wedding photos, which created a breathtaking sense of calm and simplicity. The backdrop of greenery and the subtle colors of the sky gave each photograph a timeless, ethereal quality. With nature framing their intimate moments, the images captured the raw, genuine feel of the countryside.
Capturing the Bride and Groom’s First Look
The first look between Sam and Quincy was something magical. Sam’s elegant dress with its detailed lace and low back was both sophisticated and modern, while Quincy looked dashing in his dark suit, a perfect complement to the natural tones around them. They embraced under a canopy of soft, dappled sunlight, and the emotion in their eyes said it all.
A Romantic Stroll Through the Fields
One of the most memorable parts of the day was when Sam and Quincy held hands and walked into the open field together. The tall grass surrounded them as they walked, giving the photos a unique, cinematic quality. It was a beautiful, symbolic moment—two people stepping into their new life side by side, with nothing but open skies and endless possibilities ahead of them.
Natural Poses and Playful Moments
I wanted to capture the candid, playful side of their relationship as well. One of my favorite shots is when Quincy picked up Sam in the middle of the field, with both of them laughing. Moments like these are what make wedding photography so rewarding; capturing the laughter, the fun, and the love that these two share felt incredibly special.
Photography Tips for Countryside Weddings
If you’re planning a countryside wedding and want photos like Sam and Quincy’s, consider the following:
1. Golden Hour Lighting: Early morning or late afternoon provides the best natural lighting, adding warmth and depth to photos.
2. Open Spaces: Wide-open fields create a romantic, endless look, adding a sense of freedom to your photos.
3. Natural Elements: Use the surroundings to frame your shots—trees, tall grass, and wildflowers can all add depth and a sense of place to your photos.
Final Thoughts
Capturing Sam and Quincy’s wedding was truly a joy. Their love for each other shone through in every moment, and the natural beauty of the countryside setting enhanced the romance of their day. Every photo tells a part of their story, and I feel so lucky to have been able to document such a beautiful chapter in their lives.
